About Roy
Roy McDonald is a native of the Lansingburgh section of Troy, New York. He graduated from the Lansingburgh Public School System and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the State University of New York at Oneonta, New York.
Roy has served as the Town and County Supervisor of Wilton in Saratoga County since 1979. As town supervisor, Roy totally eliminated local town property taxes (both General and Highway Funds) for the past 19 years while posting consecutive budget surpluses. Roy also has aggressively promoted economic development, and his efforts have led to the creation of more than 4,000 new, private-sector jobs.
